I’ve never understood why people get earrings, despite them often being unattractive.

    I suppose I have very traditional views on who jewelry looks good on, but …… when I see hoop earrings, all I can think of are plastic surgeon ads I used to see on the subway, for fixing your ears after it gets caught on something.
