this whole investigation was a textbook definition of a witch hunt. and now it’s come to light that the entire basis of investigating hunter was from an fbi informant with close ties to russian counterintel. the same people who talked with rudy and the laptop.
hunter has a real good shot at winning a defamation suit against smirnov and rudy imo but I’m not a law talkin guy.
If there’s a case, we’ll there’s a case.
I mean, fruit of the poisonous tree is a thing. This isn’t without precedent. Not saying that he necessarily shouldn’t be prosecuted, but he’d already plead to charges before people started screaming, and prosecution really should be based on evidence in hand, not people crying really hard.
Considering that the average American who does things similar to that, literally just gets wages garnished until it’s paid.
