I linked a Warlockracy video because I really enjoy his choice of games and presentation.

Other channels I really enjoy: Mandalore, Grim Beard, Civvie11, Oboeshoesgames, and Boulder Punch.

If you can’t tell, I like longform, scripted and edited videos on older games and niche games and mods.

    I don’t watch that much Youtube nowadays (don’t have much free time), but when I do, I enjoy these channels the most:

    • Girlfriend Reviews: Entertaining, funny, and wholesome reviews. Really like their dynamic;
    • GPLaps: Very interesting simracing channel, you get regular simracing content but also some very interesting videos about historic races, cars, tracks, etc., that he recreates with mods;
    • Kilian Experience whenever he feels like uploading. Has been branching to other stuff aside from gaming lately;
    • LordKnight: Fighting game-focused channel. Initially subscribed because he was the Millia player outside Japan but switched to Baiken since. Still has good, insightful content.

    On PeerTube, there’s BoilingSteam, who mainly focuses on PC gaming on Linux. I’d like to get a better feel for what’s on there regarding gaming channels and whatnot. If you know any you’d recommend, I’d really appreciate if you could mention them.

    Nowadays Markiplier is the only one of the gaming YouTubers I watch that still uploads quality content regularly. Back in the golden era of YouTube gaming channels I used to watch PewDiePie, UberHaxorNova, Cryaotic, The Creatures, Kootra, ImmortalHD, FrankieOnPc, etc. Most of those guys no longer upload so I don’t have much gaming in my feed anymore…

    Vinesauce, Josh Strife Hayes, TripleJump when i just need to turn my brain off with a wall of content, plus a bunch of old SomethingAwful Guys: Smight, TieTuesday, Psychadelic Eyeball, Diabetus, etc

    Not really a content creator, but rather a network of creators - The Yogscast. They’re fun, they’re all friends, they make me laugh, they’re wholesome and cursed at the same time, I love em.

    My top two are:

    • Many A True Nerd
    • GmanLives

    MATN is pretty chill and wholesome and funny. GmanLives focuses mainly on FPS games, but they have funny honest opinions about what they are checking out and they do some nice retrospective videos as well. I also like TK-Mantis for his Fallout stuff as well, decino for his Doom deep dive videos, and Accursed Farms for his game dungeon series.

      I found out about GmanLives recently and I’m loving his videos. I didn’t realize there were still so many great FPS games around such as Atomic Heart, Scorn and WH40K: Boltgun. And I like his review style. Funny but also straight to the point.

    Gaming is a pretty broad topic, so I’ll give a range of answers that are gaming related but not necessarily strictly gameplay.
    Summoning Salt - Speedrun Historian
    8-Bit Music Theory - Video Game Music Theory
    Game Maker’s Toolkit - Video Game Design Theory
    Jacob Geller - Video Essayist with focus on Games
    DougDoug - Community Influenced Gameplay with Light Coding (also hilarious)

    But that’s my selection.

    If you care about the technology behind games, Digital Foundry is fantastic

    Mandalore, Hbomberguy, AmbiguousAmphibian, Jwlar, The Dadliest Man, MattKC, Oxhorn, Joseph Anderson, Your Favourite Son, Summoning Salt, Noodle, Avalanche Reviews, Monty Zander, Boulder Punch, The Nth Review, King K

    Maybe some others, but those are the ones that jumped out in my Sub list!

      Thank you so much for this, as soon as I read that you put Mandalore first on the list, I went through all your recommendations and found a couple I didn’t know about (loving Jwlar right now).

        You’re most welcome! Im usually a fan of more long form than Mandalore, but I can easily put on a mix of their videos for hours 😍

          Yeah me too, Joseph Anderson is my absolute favorite. I remember the first time I came across his channel back when he revisited his fallout 4 review, no one does it like him!

            He’s next level when it comes to long form; excellent detail and perspective. I appreciate his literary background playing into his analysis

      2nd for AmbiguousAmphibian. My wife isn’t a gamer, but she loves to watch his videos with me. He always works in some absurd narration and social commentary.

    I’ve been watching videogamedunkey since I was a highschool freshman. I love his humour, style, and his insights in games and other media.
