Will this help the Palestinians, or, is this a yet another case of “meet the new boss, same as the old boss”?

The challenger Eisenkot is a retired army general and came up with the operational tactic of flattening neighbourhoods in Palestinian areas.

Sounds to me like the Israeli people are majority in favour of genocide, but are split on how to accomplish the goal. Recently, Netanyahu was credibly accused of knowing about the Oct 7 2023 attacks.

Looks a lot like the 2019-2022 situation that led up to the current government, where the Zionist opposition wants Netanyahu out but can’t offer anything substantial enough to earn a majority themselves and won’t touch the pro-Palestinian parties that would let them bridge the gap with a 10 foot pole. Get ready to start following news about the 2027 elections, I guess.

I was wondering what 67 was in this context. Especially since even travelling internationally I hear kids saying 67 which I find absolutely unreal every time.

Really interesting article. I know very little about Israels electoral system and the state of it beyond that Netanyahu is in charge currently. Really interesting to get a better understanding

A particularity about Israel voting is that there’s no international votes, if you live abroad and want to vote you need to fly in. Unless you live in a an occupated zone, technically Palestine, you can still get access to ballots on your zone.
