Its funny how both Reddit and Twitch announce API or policy changes that creates mass discussion within their respective communities regarding longevity and user experience. Both companies are doing shitty things for the $$$ and simultaneously creating mass exodus(es?) to other platforms.
What I find most interesting, is the announcements were made during a similar time frame and both plan to implement their changes on July 1st. I think thats pretty suspect? Almost as if a shareholder has their hand in both their pockets making a big push at once.
What are all of your thoughts on this? Im curious to hear some other perspectives!
What is going on with Twitch? Haven’t really been keeping up with it

… We need to get some bots up in here
What’s crazy is Twitch actually folded and Reddit is being stubborn. They still have some sneaky lines in their TOS, but it seems they aren’t going to enforce them like YT.
Not yet at least…
Yeah, I dunno… Twitter seemingly intentionally committing suicide too, all in such a short amount of time.
My tinfoil hat wearing side wonders if this is all coordinated because of the election coming up next year, but the more likely explanation is interest rates and tightening capital forcing these shitty new monetize-at-all-costs actions.
My tinfoil had said Elon was preparing for a republican primary in the next decade 😆
But it will be interesting to see what political parties and propaganda will try to spread for the next US election on those social media platforms.
I thought I read since younger people use TikTok, and young people don’t vote, there was no urgency to manipulate that format
I think they are not stupid and they made it happen for some monetary reason, they made it look like they are loosing to hide what they are gaining.
