Is it not common to have phone-charging stations situated among the chairs so you can have it with you? My local hospital has them in the waiting rooms.

Maybe a little effort could go into deescalating the chaos of the medical emergency waiting room as well? After all, people with broken legs or heart attacks or drug overdoses or bronchitis aren’t in the best mental state either, even those who don’t also have mental/emotional problems to start with.

Although I do agree that a separate room for those having a mental crisis is good for everyone.
