    That’s a feature, not a bug: the entire point is to make it very hard to see the effects of the regime’s policies, so that they can just claim everything is working as intended and the rest of the world won’t be able to verify it.

    Russia has been doing the same for years (well, decades really). They fixed their HIV epidemic by stopping the collection of data on infections
