    Of course. There’s been plenty of true crime podcast episodes that make a point of how an ME decision on manner of death impacts investigations (whether or not law enforcement is a potential suspect). Any manner of death that isn’t homicide or undetermined allows police to pat themselves on the back and declare victory. Even undetermined lets police say “Well, it’s probably not homicide, so we’re not even going to look into that.”
