I want to find a good note taking app that is cross platform between my android phone (pixel 6a) and my laptop (tuxedo os). Bonus points if it is also on quest, but obviously I don’t expect that. Ideally I would want a good open source one and I’d like the ability to use it for either making regular notes or for writing onto an image (I have okular, but I do find that functionality more usable in a notes app). I’d like to hear which ones y’all use and why. Off-topic software recommendations are also welcome bc y’all always recommend cool shit.
Might want to ask in !opensource@lemmy.ml, since you’ll probably get a wider audience than asking in a KDE-specific community.
I use Joplin with a selfhosted sync server but tbh I almost never use it on Android because it’s just so cumbersome. Would be up for reccs as well. There’s Nextcloud Notes (no desktop, only browser afaik) and a lot of people seem to be using rabdom Markdown note editors and syncing that with Syncthing but I’ve had bad experiences with that kn the past (stuff not being synced, constant conflicts etc).
I’d second Joplin. They have lots of good sync options, including their own (pretty cheap) service. I just use the android app to read notes, but I agree it’s pretty clunky to take notes on android.
Hey there! My note-taking app works on Linux, welcome to check it out: get-notes.com
Currently, there’s no sync or mobile app, but that’s in the works.
