I don’t know, I think that makes sense personally. I think a good portion of them are actually struggling with feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness, or at least did at some point. When you’re feeling like that, and you have no skills or intellect, you’ll take any lifeboat out, even if the only thing making you different is your skin color. At that point, the only thing I have, my skin color, makes me better than everyone else.
I know white supremacists are fucking stupid, but you’d think they’d at least be smart enough to not need clip-on kiddie-sized ties.
Considering the Nazis I’ve met over the years, I’d say most of them are barely bright enough to tie their shoes, let alone a tie.
In general, if you think your skin tone has something to do with your superiority, you’re not all that bright.

And I would argue that if those are your circumstances, thinking you’re better than everyone else is not very bright.
