I still don’t get it, she literally said it’s symbiotic? What am I missing?
Plants arent sentient. water reacts to “stimuli”, reacting to your surroundings does not imply sentience 🤦
yeah, thats what she said…

36·2 months agoMy friend the fact that there are only a few that own the means of production and the rest have to labor at their command is a power structure. Their ownership of the stuff required to make society function gives them power and they structured society in a way to enshrine their power.
How are the elites/leaders chosen in communism?
Democratically. People vote on their representatives, who in turn vote for the overall leadership.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think of imitation and lab-grown meats?English
2·2 months agoWhile lab grown meat gives me the ick, imitation meat is pretty important for us so our son can still eat all the normalized foods containing animal products, like “chicken” nuggets, burgers, sausage, cheese etc.
Pretty sure these people are the jengiz khans of doctoral advisors

1·4 months agoIn this case human dwellings would be built to accomodate for this, since it’s basically impossible to wipe up any water puddle. Builders would have to come up with some technology (drains in every room, floor heating as the norm to evaporate the 2µm water film etc.) or risk water damage. So you’d never have to wipe up a puddle since your apartment would have been built in a way that allows for the cleaning of water in other ways.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is “olive” in your language?English
1·5 months agooh cool, I thought olive was the latin root, not zeytin, which is arabic afaict.
Actually that makes sense if the arabs imported olive trees to the hispanic peninsula

I use paperwm i think it pretty much defaults to what you want. the issue i had with i3 and such window managers is that they’re lacking everything else about laptops. Energy mode depending on battery state, or even basic warnings for example. Bluetooth, wifi etc. all need to be set up and maintained by yourself. Which to me became to annoying so I switched to gnome with paperwm and that rolling desktop really is something. I have never looked back.
