Mastodon@lemmy.ml•Favorites bug in some servers other than Mastodon.social
3·7 months agoFor the sake of refreshing outdated information here, Mastodon 4.4 does now show remote favourite and boost counts where available (see https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2025/07/mastodon-4-4-for-devs/) and also has an experimental feature to pull in remote replies. Obviously it will take some time for servers to update to the newer release, but we’re moving forward to improvements here!

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Has anyone migrated from a Markdown notes app to another?English
3·8 months agoI moved from Evernote to Joplin a number of years ago, and now self-host the Joplin server and use Joplin on all of my devices. Great app. I’m afraid I can’t help with the migration from that to something else, though!

131·9 months agohi from the Mastodon team, we’d love to work more closely with you in the future on Fediverse and freedom related topics 🙂 also, I am personally a big fan of PeerTube, and think the work you do is fantastic! 🐙
Here is the Ghost talk from FOSDEM 2025 https://video.fosdem.org/2025/ud2208/fosdem-2025-4673-networked-journalism-bringing-long-form-publishing-to-the-fediverse.av1.webm
yes, although they are not all available yet. Here is the link to the videos from the room that hosted the Social Web track. https://video.fosdem.org/2025/ud2208/
There was a good talk about this at FOSDEM at the weekend!

Open Source@lemmy.ml•Open source projects are too dogmatic for their own good
7·1 year agoYou know that Mastodon is implementing quote posts though, right?
I wrote about this over the past few months. https://andypiper.co.uk/2024/08/15/fediverse-for-freedom/

1·2 years agoBuilt and using it - lots of fun. https://dev.to/andypiper/getting-arty-with-a-pi-3dk9
Reminds me a little of the Rook design. CoreXY right? Tell us more about it!
Just about to finish printing this, it looks really fun.
It looks great. Curious how it plays.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•A 3D print, 8 years in the makingEnglish
2·3 years agoYeah, the decimation in the low poly app was particularly aggressive around the mouth! The original scan of course was not a huge resolution, and I had glasses on which was a mistake. Came out ok for my vanity purposes though :-)

Technology@lemmy.world•Twitter warns it could sue Meta over “copycat” Threads appEnglish
4·3 years agoThis is hilarious and I am here for it. They can’t pay their bills, can’t imagine they have funds to get a legal case together.

… zathura seems interesting, it has support for plugins for different document types, but it seemed to open a PDF in secondary window (albeit on a desktop), whereas tdf allowed me to access the PDF inline in ghostty, which was great.
