Not sure if half-serious or not, but since I’ve read that a couple of times now, by that logic, we really don’t know what anything is.

I’m sorry, but as much as I would like to share your worldview, I can’t.
Hunanity seriously has to get its shit together quickly, else a few scumbags will be ruining the fun for everyone.
As things stand currently, I’m leaning more toward the side of the guy in the comic.
I’m specifically talking about Snaps, I have no issues with native packages and controlling them. The problem is, since apt has become a wrapper for snap in Ubuntu, I can’t even really tell what’s being installed anymore.
You can only lock them for a while last tine I checked, can’t you?
I’ve needed an old GIMP version before for a project I was working on. I wasn’t using Ubuntu at the time, but would’ve been pretty screwed if it just updated itself after X months.
Did they fix the Snap startup time, finally?
Yes, it fills the screen the moment I select the X11 session. I even looked it up, Wayland just can’t do it.
I tried it on KDE (or rather, it forced me to after it simply updated to Wayland by default). I tried to set it up correctly, but it just didn’t quite work.
I also need no fractional scaling, but dome software does not honor that anyway (e.g. VST interfaces).
Simply reducing the resolution is a simple fix, also easier on the GPU, but Wayland will not fill the screen and intead just shows the tiny original 1:1 image in the middle.
It may be the future, but it’s unusable for me.
I have a high dpi screen. Upscaling does not perfectly work for me in every program, but simply setting it to Full HD does work and looks fine.
However, when I set it to the lower resolution in Wayland, I have 50% of the display active with black bars all around.
So far, there seems to be no fix for this?
Same thing happens if you start older, lower resolution fullscreen apps (retro games and such).
Depends on what you consider “working”, having my calculator and browser load for a minute or two before being able to do anyting and being unable to keep a specific software version as long as I need to doesn’t really work for me.
Logic: Ok, you installed a video player. Fine. It has a GUI, settings and all. Oh, you want to play any videos with it? Go search for their dependencies.

Since you like writing in proverbs, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Let them feel what it’s like to be on the reciving end.
Those rich fucks tend to only pick fights with underpowered opponents, which is not that difficult due to their vast financial advantage. It’s only fair to level the playfield by such measures and one of the few things we can do.

It’s a fine idea, but you can not equate the right to privacy of an innocent person and a perpetrator. (I know courts see this differently.)
The only point I would agree on is leave out the kids, they had no choice.
Is that something dirty?

Because I do and I can also do what you describe.

Ok, I guess that figures.
