Hopefully I got the url formatting correct.
I’m not the creator or a moderator of this community or anything but I’m the only one posting. I’m going to try to post a bunch of the videos I’ve saved over the years (I’ve got hundreds lol) to get the ball rolling.
It seems like the best way to share videos here is to upload them to your preferred website and put the link in your post. I’ve been using Imgur because you don’t need an account to upload. You do have to use the desktop site if you want to upload from mobile without the app.
Alright I wanna see some videos of hot crazy fucking!!
… Oh.
links to vids work. and pics. try calckey.social to upload vids etc.
All the links appear to be broken, but I’m subbed.
Is that community down???
Not on my end.
404: couldnt_find_community
This is what I’m getting, I come from lemmy.fmhy.ml instance…
It may be due to your instance not being aware of that community existing. See:
Q: Why do I get a 404?
A: At least one user in an instance needs to search for a community before it gets fetched. Searching for the community will bring it into the instance and it will fetch a few of the most recent posts without comments. If a user is subscribed to a community, then all of the future posts and interactions are now in-sync.
Yeah, seems like it, the weird thing is that I’m trying too look up for such a community and it never finds it…
Well it should take a few seconds, and then you might need to re-search it for it to show up, but other than that, I don’t know what’s happening either then
Nevermind, seems that I get it working, this is so hard to achieve from mobile lol.
That’s because I’m pretty sure Federation is currently turned off for this website. The Fediverse is confusing enough for folks but even worse when the owner of this instance has turned it off without some large stickied announcement.
I believe this is currently functioning as just a standalone website. At least it was a couple days ago. I don’t know if he’s fixed it yet.
Federation is enabled on Kbin now.
Pro tip: saying things like “this site” without context means nothing, since your comment can be seen by people on other instances. If you hover on someone’s username, the full context including what instance they are coming from will be revealed. The comment you replied to is actually coming from lemmy.fmhy.ml and the other reply to that came from lemmy.world.
Why is everyone just remaking Reddit subs? Isn’t the whole point of being here is that its not Reddit?
Not really. Many, if not most, ex-Reddit users want the familiarity of their old subs but just on a de-shittified platform.
I get where you’re coming from but it makes sense to have equivalents for some of them. Like in this case, people are going to want a place to share and watch crazy/shocking videos.
