I’ve got a bunch eating holes in my deck structure. I’ve built a trap, but none have ever gone in it. I’d rather avoid sprays. I’ve read I could spray the holes with a lemon juice concentrate. I posted a picture of the trap I go through but it doesn’t really work.

I bought a fancy trap, and they chewed through it.

I hung paper bags up to simulate a hornets nest. Useless

I’ve filled in their burrows and repainted. Nope.

Only thing that has worked is hunting them with my pup. She’ll track and bark at them, I’ll swat them down with a broom, she pins 'em, and I go in for the kill with my boot.

Would love to find a more hands off solution that works, though. They’re literally eating me out of home.

Ive heard you can take a nice big block of cedar and drill a bunch of starter holes all over and hang it up away from you house and encourage they move residence. Hang a few up. I’ve never tried this, but it seems somewhat practical especially long term. Just give em somewhere nicer to live, pretty sure they like cedar etc soft woods.
