Step 1. Saturate the news with messaging that one side in a conflict are terrorists (or evil of some kind) to manufacture consent for applying disproportionate violence and punishment to that side.
Step 2. Suppress factual information about what’s actually going on.
Step 3. Shut down perspectives sympathetic to the marginalized/dehumanized side in the conflict under the pretences of “both sides” or “political correctness.”
Step 4. By now most regular people are saturated in mis/disinformation, and can plainly see that one perspective is heralded as just and the other as extremist or unjust (and publicly punished), and they will fall in line with larger attack on truth and dehumanization of a person or group.

I must credit the oligarchs. They sure knew what they were doing buying up news and social media platforms. Their ability to manufacture consent now, combined with the atrophying of human attention and critical thinking from so much digital stimulation, might be the nail in the coffin of human prosperity.

It’s nice to see these activities at TPL scrutinized. Unfortunately, I’ve seen the same unthinking quest to prioritize the Western Colonialism-backed Zionist perspective and dehumanize Palestinians and silence dissent in most Canadian organizations.

It was interesting to look at the US election analysis. If people actually knew things about the economy, such as whether the US GDP went up last year, they were much much more likely to vote for Harris than Trump. People who don’t know those facts voted for Trump.

The more you saturate people in disinformation, the less energy you need to expend on policing and steering their opinions. They will start policing themselves and others, as in the case of these TPL workers.
